Safety Policy

The project superintendent is the on-site Project Safety Officer and the responsible person for the project safety

The primary responsibilities of the Project Safety Officer are as follows:

1.     Maintain safe working conditions for all employees, subcontractors and vendors of the contractor       

2.     To assure that all of the contractors employees, subcontractor  employees and project vendors conform to the safety rules

3.     To investigate and immediately report the occurrence or notice of any on-site accident involving an employee, subcontractor employee, project vendor, or general public person.

 

To accomplish these responsibilities the Project Safety Officer will:

1.     Conduct weekly safety meetings having in attendance the contractors employees and all employees of the subcontractor working on site.  The general agenda for this meeting shall include as a minimum the use of personal protective equipment and clothing, use of ladders, fall protection, electrical chords and hand tools, and current safety hazards resulting from the progress of construction.  This shall be a mandatory meeting.

2.     Continuous daily inspection of site and immediate correction of any safety hazard or any personnel working in an unsafe manor.

3.     Dismissal from project any personnel repeatedly showing disregard for safety practices, rules, and regulations set forth by the  contractor.

4.     Immediate dismissal from the site any employee or subcontractor possessing or under the influence of alcohol or non-prescriptive drugs.

5.     Provide a weekly report to project manager on safety meeting and any and all violations for the week, and any actions taken to make corrections.
